Maybe the Spiders Know
Fightin’ it I am,
this thing eatin' away at me,
this thing that don’t exist.
It’s hard to be fightin’ somethin’ that don’t exist,
you know.
Alone in this empty house
covered with the dust
and the spiders
spin, spin, spinnin’ their webs.
I talk to ‘em you know,
those spiders,
makin’ me dizzy with all that spinnin’.
Ask ‘em if I’m crazy, I do.
Ask ‘em if they can see those people that ain’t here.
I can’t see ‘em you know,
those people,
but they promise me they’s here,
so I ask the spiders,
with all their eyes,
but they don’t answer me, no they don’t.
They just spin and spin,
makin’ me dizzy with all that spinnin’ they are.
All those eyes seein’ through me as they spin,
makin' me wonder if I’m even here,
makin’ me think that maybe,
like this thing eatin’ at me from the inside,
I don’t exist either.
this thing eatin' away at me,
this thing that don’t exist.
It’s hard to be fightin’ somethin’ that don’t exist,
you know.
Alone in this empty house
covered with the dust
and the spiders
spin, spin, spinnin’ their webs.
I talk to ‘em you know,
those spiders,
makin’ me dizzy with all that spinnin’.
Ask ‘em if I’m crazy, I do.
Ask ‘em if they can see those people that ain’t here.
I can’t see ‘em you know,
those people,
but they promise me they’s here,
so I ask the spiders,
with all their eyes,
but they don’t answer me, no they don’t.
They just spin and spin,
makin’ me dizzy with all that spinnin’ they are.
All those eyes seein’ through me as they spin,
makin' me wonder if I’m even here,
makin’ me think that maybe,
like this thing eatin’ at me from the inside,
I don’t exist either.
